The Kirkpatrick & Co Difference

We possess remarkable prowess handling private sales, uncovering properties not publicly listed, and expertly delivering favorable terms for our clients. Most of our clients are repeat clients.

Our Heritage

When Arnold Kirkpatrick formed Kirkpatrick & Co. three decades ago, he envisioned a brokerage that would offer not only authoritative knowledge and experience but a sense of integrity permeating the firm’s every action.

Arnold understood that the purchase or sale of a property was not the end of a relationship, but a prelude. He treasured the friendships he built with clients, offering a unique blend of industry expertise and Bluegrass hospitality to individuals both local and international.

Steeped in that tradition, Kirkpatrick & Co. remains pleased to provide clients excellent – and gracious – representation.

Explore the Bluegrass Counties

Fayette

Fayette County, Kentucky was founded in 1780, five years after the town of Lexington. For thousands of years, the area had been known for its fertile soil and abundant sources of calcium-rich, natural spring water. Central Kentucky quickly became a center for enterprise, education, and culture. Today the region’s hub maintains its unique identity as the 28th largest city in the U.S., encircled by a productive & beautiful green belt.

Bourbon

Bourbon County is home to some of the finest Thoroughbred horse farms in the world, including Adena Springs, Claiborne, Darley Stonerside, Greenwood Lodge, Hurricane Hills, Stone Farm, Stoneleigh, Stonereath, and Xalapa. Runnymede Farm, the Commonwealth’s oldest, continually-operated Thoroughbred breeding operation, is located on 365 magnificent acres here.

Woodford

Woodford County, Kentucky boasts equine excellence, scenic & historic vistas, as well as famed Bourbon distilleries. Bordered largely by the Kentucky River, Woodford County is home to farms such as Airdrie, Coolmore, Three Chimneys, WinStar and the Gainsborough division of Godolphin. Lane’s End Farm played host for Queen Elizabeth II’s visits to the Bluegrass.

Scott

Just north of Lexington-Fayette County, Scott County was explored and settled in the late 18th century. The county displays gently rolling hills & soil suitable for horse farms in the south, and more densely wooded, steeper topography in the north. Home to a Toyota manufacturing facility, the city of Georgetown has experience tremendous growth in recent years.

Clark

Clark County has a proud tradition of agriculture, particularly cattle and tobacco. Portions of the county, like the Combs Ferry Road, Jones Nursery Road, and Grimes Mill, are well-known for their beautiful vistas and fascinating histories. The county seat of Winchester is a friendly & historic small town.

Jessamine

Jessamine County has been extensively developed in recent years for industry, retail, and residential uses. With an abundance of historic homes, Jessamine County has also become a popular region for fine contemporary estates. The Taylor Made & Ramsey farms have brought extensive thoroughbred prowess to the county.

Harrison

An old farming community, residents have been cultivating fine soils for many centuries. Located near the South Fork of the Licking River, Harrison County is bordered by a handful of others, including Scott & Bourbon counties. Cynthiana, its county seat, boasts great commerce with 3M, Lucas Equine, and Bullard, inventors of the hard hat.
